In the Middle of the COVID-19 Outbreak... I discovered a New Way to Abuse Drugs

As of today, there seems to be no definitive cure for the coronavirus (COVID-19), although they say that research is underway.,
However that does not mean that there is nothing we, the ordinary people, can do to control the spread of this disease. Preventative measures are present, and such methods have proven useful in disease prevention in the past e.g. H1N1, avian flu etc. This is my story of how I accidentally discovered a new method to abuse drugs.

It started with the mask

An industrial mask, please - that is how I described the item I was shopping for at the agricultural machinery and utilities shop in my home district. I bought the mask quite a while before the outbreak. This was because I study in the agricultural course, a course which involves dust, dirt and pollen. So, I was quite glad to get my filthy hands on a good quality mask - so happy, that I didn't notice that the metal piece on the nose part was not aligned.

Masks are actually a good buy, regardless of the 'disease outbreak' or 'pandemic', having a mask on you is always a good idea.

And a hand sanitizer

Fast forward a few months and March 06 happened. And we all were staying home, playing video games and going to town while wearing masks. Additionally, we all had a small bottle of hand sanitizer inside our jacket pockets. Hand sanitizers were provided to us by the government for free. For that we were grateful. There were even checkpoints in front of hospitals with health officials checking for contagions, and Desuung volunteers dispensing hand sanitisers generously.

I write this article in the middle of the outbreak, but I would like to predict that the Bhutanese people would eventually make a habit out of using hand sanitizers. Perhaps they will continue using hand sanitizers daily, long after the outbreak is over. So, in a way this disease could make human's healthcare a bit healthier.

So... About the Drug Abuse

The reason why you had to read the first two paragraphs is that both items were necessary for a proper understanding of my 'story'.

On Wednesday, I was heading for the nearby hospital to get medicine for my tonsilitis. I had my mask and my hand sanitizer. I was walking when I thought, "Hey! What would happen if I cleaned my mask using this hand sanitizer?"

And so, I poured some hand sanitizer on the internal part of my mask. Then, I promptly wore my mask and went on my way. Apparently, I poured a little too much that the alcohol content of the hand sanitizer went blaring up my nostrils.

That's when I got the idea...

...for a new method to consume drugs.

Anyone who made it up to grade 6 in a Bhutanese school has heard about dendrite, glue, petrol and other "huffable" drugs. I realised that one could pour some of those drugs into the masks. Then, they simply have to wear the masks and be on their way. In fact, this new method does not require for the abuser to use his hands to hold up the packet of dendrite or any other drug that has to be sniffed. With this method, the need only to replace the mask whenever the substance wears out or it becomes uncomfortable. Peace out!

So, that is how I invented a new way to breathe in the dendrite.

SARS-CoV can be prevented. It is recommended to follow sanitary practices such as regular hand washing, covering your mouth and nose while sneezing and coughing, and thoroughly cooking your food. Avoid going to public places, unless necessary.
