Best Already-Made Scripts

Image
Every year the board of movies sets aside a list of scripts called the "Best Unmade Scripts of the Year". These are movie scripts written by movie writers which are liked by the producers, directors and film makers - but for some reason they are unable to make the movie that year. These scripts aren't tossed aside rather, they are listed as "Most Liked Unmade Scripts" and so on. Thus, filmmakers will make the movie using these scripts when the conditions are favourable. But what are the "Best Already Made Scripts"? Yes. Which movies have some interesting scripts that are still fun and exciting to read through – despite the movie having been already shot, directed and illegally watched by fans worldwide? This article looks at some of the choices I MADE for best scripts which are already made. How did this come to be? Well, it is expensive downloading and illegally watching movies – so in the lockdown, I sometimes read scripts and imagine the story in my...

Violet Evergarden - Thoughts

Image
When is an Anime about war, not really about war Life, lament, love and lost limbs - this tale has it all. This review will not look into the plot details of Violet Evergarden. Rather, this article discusses the various aspects of this masterpiece - with a few concluding paragraphs on how to make a live-action version, should the need arise. Violet Evergarden is an Anime made by Kyoto animation. They are the studio behind Haruhi Suzumiya and also the one that suffered from an arson attack, sometime in the past. According to IMDb, there's a character that looks like Haruhi Suzumiya in the opening scene of episode one; so far I've been unable to find her - so, if you see the illusive cameo, give me a call/text/pigeon.  I thought that it looked like something Makoto Shinkai would be involved in. You can see the attention to detail, the carvings on the background in the walls, the various spine designs on the books and the shadow under the flowers are all visible. And flowers are a...

Things to Do during the COVID isolation

Image
Sort out your garbage Directly in Chapter One of your isolation story, waste management is going to be a problem. There are systems in place for this problem, but if your garbage disposal gets stacked up there will be MORE problems.  I'd recommend firstly sorting out the wet waste from the dry ones i.e. biodegradable waste (from food etc.) and the non-biodegradable. If you do not have biodegradable waste bags, it is alright to use whatever material is there for the time being. But it does not end there, sort out the dry waste too. Priority could go to bottles as they take up a lot of space, so separating them provides for the dual benefit of freeing up space, and giving a chance to recycle. Further, milk cartons and the like need to be sorted out from the pet bottles. In fact, there's a village in a certain country (I'm not naming names but it rhymes with Clap-an) that sorts it's waste into 45 categories. I cannot name 45 categories of waste, but there are people who ar...

Onward - Movie Review

Image
Onward review Onward is the 2020 Disney Pixar movie, which due to the COVID 19 outbreak was available for digital download while still in theatres. It is the first Disney movie to be available so; and this is my review. The graphics were so good that I thought "Hey! The movie makers have cheated! They used footage from real life mixed into this animated film!" Only upon closer inspection did I really see the detail that was put into animating this film. The plot revolves around magic, modernization and a mystical adventure to reunite two siblings with their dead father for a day. A good concept that coupled with the good direction and production, hits all the important points. The emotional weight in this movie made me wonder; "Why aren't many people talking about it?" The voice actors include Marvel actors, Tom Holland and Chris Pratt. And that isn't even an important detail. The voice acting in this movie is so well done, that the people behind it do not ...
