For the Parents - What Games are your Children Playing

Image
Are you a parent? No? But you will be. And when you have a child, he or she will take your smartphone or whatever holographic equivalent to a cellphone they have in 2035 and... they will play games with it. So, here's an article to help the parents of the late 2010s understand what games their children are playing. 4. Clash of Clans Ah! The game of timing. When I say timing, I mean timing one's entire life and livelihood around this game. In Clash of Clans or "CoC", you play as a giant godly being who has control over a small village (or a large village) in the middle of a clearing in a forest. You play as a "literal" god who has to micro-manage everything in this so-called village. You take control of fire breathing dragons, ink squirting minions, gold stealing goblins and cannon fodder barbarians in this online game of domination and destruction. But for an appropriate amount of destruction, there has to be a certain amount of construction. So, ...

In the Middle of the COVID-19 Outbreak... I discovered a New Way to Abuse Drugs

Image
As of today, there seems to be no definitive cure for the coronavirus (COVID-19), although they say that research is underway., However that does not mean that there is nothing we, the ordinary people, can do to control the spread of this disease. Preventative measures are present, and such methods have proven useful in disease prevention in the past e.g. H1N1, avian flu etc. This is my story of how I accidentally discovered a new method to abuse drugs. It started with the mask An industrial mask, please - that is how I described the item I was shopping for at the agricultural machinery and utilities shop in my home district. I bought the mask quite a while before the outbreak. This was because I study in the agricultural course, a course which involves dust, dirt and pollen. So, I was quite glad to get my filthy hands on a good quality mask - so happy, that I didn't notice that the metal piece on the nose part was not aligned. Masks are actually a good buy, regardle...

Movie Review - Killing Curriculum: Jinroh Shokei Game (2015)

Image
Nine students and a teacher are kidnapped and locked inside a building. They are not allowed to leave the building, and any attempt to do so results in the death of the participant. Every day at 3:00 p.m., the participants gather and vote off one member to be killed. Every night, two of the participants who are designated as "werewolf", execute one of the other participants. Killing Curriculum - Jinro Shokei Game is somehow worse than Jinro Shokei Game The main character Let's talk about Niina. He is a main character who has no reason to live. Not just in the death game that they are playing, but generally no reason to continue his life at all. He is portrayed as a shy, depressed, possibly homosexual person who is constantly bullied by his peers. That is not even the biggest deal with this main character. Note that Killing Curriculum - JSG is the prequel to Jinro Shokei Game. So, we have a suicidal main character who tries to get killed for two whole ...

Blackman's Law

Image
"When the rate of a process is dependent on a number of factors, the rate of the process is determined by the pace of the slowest factor." This law is used to explain limiting factors for photosynthesis in Class 10, and again in Class 12. Let us say, for example, that the deciding factors are light, soil nutrient, water and carbon dioxide. In the textbook, we are taught to assume that all factors besides carbon dioxide are at sufficient levels. Now, because all the factors are ideal, appropriate, adequate, photosynthesis will occur. But what if carbon dioxide is not adequate? What if it was limited, i.e. simply not present in the appropriate quantity. Therefore, the overall rate of the process will depend on carbon dioxide. No matter how much more light, water and soil nutrient there are, the overall rate or speed at which the process occurs is dependent on carbon dioxide. Unless the availability of  CO 2  increases, the process will not occur any faster. ...
