For the Parents - What Games are your Children Playing

Are you a parent? No? But you will be. And when you have a child, he or she will take your smartphone or whatever holographic equivalent to a cellphone they have in 2035 and... they will play games with it. So, here's an article to help the parents of the late 2010s understand what games their children are playing.

4. Clash of Clans

Ah! The game of timing. When I say timing, I mean timing one's entire life and livelihood around this game.

In Clash of Clans or "CoC", you play as a giant godly being who has control over a small village (or a large village) in the middle of a clearing in a forest. You play as a "literal" god who has to micro-manage everything in this so-called village. You take control of fire breathing dragons, ink squirting minions, gold stealing goblins and cannon fodder barbarians in this online game of domination and destruction. But for an appropriate amount of destruction, there has to be a certain amount of construction. So, you (or your child) will be involved in several hours of stone masonry and construction like a regular blue collar worker. Yes! Who hasn't dreamt of spending 5 hours a day waiting for several construction projects to be completed? Clash of Clans is highly addictive because of it's trophy system of ranking - proving to the world that everyone only cares about how many golden trophies one can achieve in a certain amount of time.

3. Clash Royale

Clash of Clans - if it were a person - would be that addictive girlfriend who is always nagging you to give an upgrade on her 'Research Laboratory' or go to war against an equal or stronger clan. If Clash of Clans was an uncle, it would be that drug addicted uncle who keeps begging you for money to support his drug addiction. If Clash of Clans had an ugly cousin who requires higher maintenance and even more care - then, that ugly cousin would be Clash Royale.

Clash Royale is a real-time versus-mode game, where you are given certain cards which can be used to summon troops to fight enemies. You have to use your troops to face off against the enemy tower, while maintaining that your tower is not attacked by enemy troops. Everyone who has played Clash of Clans had dipped their beaks in Clash Royale (or at least thought of it). Don't let your children play this game or they will be made fun of by their cooler friends who play Clash of Clans. Those friends aren't cool either, but still...

2. Player Unknown's Battlegrounds

Were you confused by the title? If you require some assistance in understanding the name of this game... Then... PUBG. PUB-Gee. How's that? Did your parental radar just get activated? Good. Because Player Unknown's Battleground is the game that everyone is talking about now.

PUBG is an online game in which about 99 players simultaneously play and try to kill the remaining 98 players. Sounds like a good idea for a movie or a book, but this is a real life video game. So, it involves people running around a small island searching for guns to kill their enemies before their enemies get bigger guns to kill them. Such a game is called "Battle Royale" and is actually a very common element for thriller movies in Japan and action movies in Hollywood. However, PUBG is frought with controversy - so much that our government had a plan to ban the playing of this game in our country. Your children are probably playing this. And you can tell by the sudden disappearance of about 4 GB of storage on your smart phone. In fact, this is the only game on this list which actually utilizes external technical attachments - such as buttons and even entire remote controls. If they want to use a remote control, make them play a console game - just like our elder brothers did.

1. Mobile Legends Bang Bang - 5 vs 5

In this game, you play as a hero - a being with multiple powers of physical strength or magical ability. Also, you will have four friends to accompany you in a battle to destroy another player's base or "home". The opponent player will also try his/her best to try and destroy your home "base" before you destroy his/her home "base". Of course, the base is protected by nine turrets or towers which will destroy your hero if he/she comes into direct contact with the tower.

However, the player can control any one type put of six types of heroes. There's the hulking Tank, the high attacking Assassin, the balanced Fighter, the long ranged Marksman, the strange Mage and the weird Support. In combination, these heroes will be able to destroy your base with ease.

MLBB is fun to play because of the high understanding needed to analyse each situation in a 5 vs 5 battle. In simple words, get a notebook out and write down the various terms necessary to understand the game. The players will also have to play Pokémon - Gotta Catch 'em all, as they farm BPs to buy all of the heroes which are unique and not copied from other games and franchises. Very addictive and tasking. Take your child's phone away when you hear a very American sounding Asian girl announce "Welcome to Mobile Legends".

Seriously all these games are addictive. This article has only 4 entries and not the regular 7 because I have to go play Mobile Legends later.

Peaceful Sparta has played all these games and he will defeat you on a 1 vs 1.
